Day Nine
I lie down to be still but am constantly in motion. My limbs lie heavy on the floor but my senses revolve like a whirlpool. Closing my eyes only makes the experience more incredible and unsteady. A heady mixture of weightlessness, of collapsing, of seeing the world skim past as you dangle from an ankle, as you turn inside out and round about and the sounds that surround you distort as your head travels skyward at the speed of a train.
The world looks different when you land with eyes and nose and heart close to the floor………… and different again when hands and arms come to collect you and propel you into space so the chairs and the cello appear to suspend in mid air.
Treading and pressing on the flesh of another, holding their head in the palms of your hands, smelling their skin and holding their bones and knowing your safe but not all the time, doing more than you think you can do which is never enough and moving along the edges of a place with no middle.
Finding your way. Enjoying the ride.
